| Catoctin Colorfest is held every year on the second full weekend in October. In 2005, the 42nd Annual Colorfest celebration, which is a juried arts and crafts event featuring the hand-made work of over 360 artisans, will be held in Thurmont. Official Colorfest sites include the Community Park on Frederick Road, the Guardian Hose Company Carnival Grounds off East Main Street, and the Thurmont Middle School on East Main Street. All three craft locations are within easy walking distance. Shuttle buses run on a loop through Thurmont during this event, and the shuttle bus stops at the East Main Street entrance to the Carnival Grounds. The Guardian Hose Company plays host to over 150 crafters on our Carnival Grounds and serves a wide variety of food and beverages including breakfast sandwiches and pit beef platters and sandwiches. We have some of the best prices in town -- please stop by and sample our delicious food offerings and support the volunteer fire company in Thurmont! We also have a large covered eating area with picnic tables so you may sit, eat, and relax for a few minutes. Come to the Catoctin Mountains -- Enjoy our fall foliage, browse the many crafts available, and do some early holiday shopping!
