| Dress uniforms are generally worn only on special occasions such as participating in parades or, sadly, attending funerals. The style of the uniform worn has changed over the years. The first documented uniforms consisted of jacket, trousers, white shirt, tie, and hat. In later years, the shirt color changed to blue, no tie was worn, and the shirt collar was open. Pictured below are some examples of a Guardian Hose Company member wearing two styles of uniforms. The top photograph shows the early style (worn in the 1950's and 1960's); the bottom photograph shows the style worn in the 1980's and 1990's.
