The Guardian Hose Company of Thurmont and the Vigilant Hose Company of Emmitsburg are jointly sponsoring a golf tournament on Friday, August 29, 2003. The tournament will be held at the Maple Run golf course on Moser Road in Thurmont with a 9 A.M. start time. The entry fee is $50.00 per player.

These two volunteer fire companies have joined together on this event to help raise funds for Thurmont Police Officer Rick White who was seriously injured in the line of duty as a police officer. In addition to being a police officer, Rick entered the volunteer fire service as a youngster in his hometown of Emmitsburg  by joining the Vigilant Hose Company. When Rick moved to Thurmont, he joined the Guardian Hose Company.

All proceeds from this tournament directly benefit Rick and his family.

The tournament will be followed by a steak dinner being held at the Guardian Hose Company Activities Building.
