Guardian Hose Company Parade Rules 1) You must have a completed response form to be judged and be eligible to receive an award. 2) Line up order is first come, first served. If there are multiple units per organization, the units must enter the line up together in order to proceed through the parade together. There is no saving of spaces allowed. 3) No unsafe vehicles or activities will be permitted. 4) Candy, etc. can be thrown, however, these items MUST reach the curb to avoid having children run into the roadway and in front of moving vehicles. 5) Sirens, air horns, etc. may be used, however, please use good judgment when operating them around bands or majorette units who are performing. 6)
In the event a parade participant is called away from the parade
for an emergency response, EXTREME CAUTION AND SAFETY MUST BE KEPT IN
MIND! 7)
Forward progress must be maintained at all times.
Failure to do so may disqualify you from receiving an award. Participants
may not stop at the judges’ stand for performances or presentations. 8) Color guard units will be judged independently from the units they are accompanying. 9) Bands accompanying majorette units will be judged as part of the majorette unit. 10) All entries consisting of, or including animals, MUST provide a means of immediate waste removal throughout the entire parade route. 11) All entries are required to stay in their designated order through the parade route. No moving ahead of or behind other units during the parade is permitted and will result in your immediate removal from the parade. 12) Commercial entries are limited to three (3) units per organization and truck tractor / semi-trailer combinations are not permitted due to crowds and turns. 13) Antique vehicles must be at least 25 years old but need not be in active use. 14) No more than one trophy will be awarded to any one vehicle; however, there are no restrictions on the number of awards a person / organization may be awarded. 15) Violation of any of the rules will disqualify you from receiving an award. 16)
ALL DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES ARE FINAL.
